Road trip! 1994 was year that Odyssey went widely abroad in the world. From a trip to Hawaii for the Barclays and the Rathbones, to Bernard and Eugene's cross-country road trip to California, then to an NSA hunt for terrorists in Switzerland. But even with all the action overseas, the homefront in Odyssey does not stand by quietly. George Barclay responds to God's call for him to become a pastor, Tom becomes mayor of Odyssey, the kids at Whit's End revive The Twilife Zone show on KYDS radio, and Mr. Whitaker leaves town to work at an archeological dig in the Middle East. Taking his place at Whit's End is his son Jason Whitaker and his childhood friend Jack Allen. Among these new faces are Fred Holstein and Katrina Shanks, a young college student that seems to have a lot in common with Odyssey's resident genius, Eugene Meltsner. From the discovery of a secret group of kids in Odyssey called the Isrealites, to a story about the creation of the Bible Room, the town of Odyssey has a monumental year,
all ending with a heartwarming trip to the hospital where the Barclays meet the newest member of their family, Steward Reed. |
